Liza studied with Paddy and Susan Hurlings in Portsmouth. She started her teaching career working part time at Victoria School Of Dance and at Emjay School of Dance. Liza also works free lance across the South coaching children and teachers. She has gained her Fellowship with the ISTD and other qualifications include - Certificate in Applied Anatomy and Physiology, Certificate in History and Development of Western Dance, Registered Tutor for I.S.T.D and an acting diploma with the New Era Academy.
Liza has choreographed for many local shows and her students have won Janet Cram and Star Tap Awards. She enjoys training students to become qualified teachers and currently teaches Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) and Diploma in Dance Education (DDE)at Chichester College and Giselle Academy of Dance.
Many of Liza's ex students have made a professional career in dance as peformers, choreographers and teachers.
Natasha started dancing at the very young age of 2 studying RAD Ballet and gained outstanding examination results throughout her training. Natasha entered many competitons throughout England and was awarded 1st Place in the Ballet Championship at the age of 13. At 16 Natasha was offered many places at different dance colleges throughout England in which she attended London Studio Centre and was awarded a degree in Performing Arts.
Natasha performed in many shows including Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet. After 3 years touring with the company Natasha returned to Southampton and followed her dream by continuing with her study to become a qualified teacher in Dance. Natasha was awarded her Registered status and qualifications in 1996 in RAD Ballet and ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap, Greek, National, Jazz and Street.
Natasha is now training to become an Examiner with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.
Donna (ex-Emjay School of Dance pupil) trained at Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts and graduated with a diploma in performance. Donna's love is choreography and her pieces have won several awards through the southern region. She uses her talent to choreograph festival and show dances at Emjay as well as teaching Body Conditioning, Jazz,and Musical Theatre and Audition Technique.
Donna no longer dances professionally. She now passes on her knowledge and experience to many pupils in the south teaching and choreographing for annual shows for schools such as Stage Coach, Westgate and King Edward V1School.
Sam (ex-Emjay School of Dance pupil) studied at London Studio Centre. Sam teaches Baby bops and Performance skills. Sam's passion for teaching & Musical Theatre makes her the perfect
coach for Performance Skills and to encourage students to lose all inhibitions and perform!
Emily (ex Emjay School of Dance pupil) achieved a BA Honors degree in Dance Performance from Middlesex University in 2013. She is keen to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for Contemporary and Ballet with the students at Emjay and to encourage their confidence in performing.
Emily is now training to become a ballet teacher at Licentiate level with the Royal Academy of Dance.
Michelle (ex-Emjay sudent) began dancing from the age of 3. Dancing formed amajor part of Michelle's childhood and she took part in small productions andmany festivals, winning the All England Finals competition with her tap solos,duets, trios and groups over the years. At 18 she decided to go to university to study Performing Arts. In 2014 Michelle obtained her DDI in modern and tap and is currently working towards her DDE. Michelle also has a passion for Greek dancing and hopes to study her DDI & DDE in Greek in the next few years.
Michelle teaches Greek, ISTD modern and tap and a talented choreographer for festivals and shows.
